VLCD Day 29
Okay, so now I'm down to 151.7, so I'm down 2.4 lbs with a BMI of 28.64 (overweight). I'm not getting my hopes up though. At least my ketone strip said I'm somewhere between 40 and 80, which is way better than yesterday. Maybe tomorrow I will actually lose again instead of gaining like my pattern has been lately...

VLCD Day 28
So you can tell that I don't want to post when I don't post until 5pm...
I don't know what happened besides me only getting 5 1/2 hours of sleep, but can that really make me gain over a pound? Anyway, I weighed myself and was totally bummed and ate 3 chocolate delight's. Then I thought I would do a steak and cake day (from HCG Besties, but originally from stephsuniverse), but the cake is made with coconut oil, stevia and cocoa which I already ate this morning as chocolate delight. The other ingredients are 1/2 oz. macadamia nuts (ground into powder), an egg and 3 Tbsp of heavy cream (whipping cream). So I measured out the 1/2 oz. of macadamias to eat through the day, had steak for lunch, steak for supper and made the egg and heavy cream into a yummy omelette. I'm not sure if it will really work the same, but I'm going to try it out and see if it helps. Also I bought ketone testing strips and forgot to test first thing, so tested 2nd thing this morning and it ended up at the trace amounts (5) (not negative though...)
Anyway, I guess you want to know how much I gained hey? I'm up 1.8 lbs to 154.1lbs with a BMI of 29.09 (overweight). Um ya, good thing I lost 2 lbs yesterday so I could gain 1.8 today... I'm mad. I hope I have a big release tomorrow, but I guess I'll have to wait and see.
EDIT:
Oh ya, I forgot to add that the tea I drank yesterday was decaf, and all I have been drinking before is herbal tea, so I'm not sure if that made a difference, also I drank most of my liquid within a few hours of going to bed because I didn't get around to drinking for most of the day. So today I made sure to drink 500mL in the morning, then around lunch, then in the afternoon and I'm finishing my last 500mL right now, so spread out through the day. Also all I am drinking today is water, plain water without even adding lemon juice to it (yuck, I hate plain water) so I'm hoping that will help. I'm getting bummed that I keep going up then down then up then down and not really getting anywhere at all in the process. I have less than two weeks left to get to my round 1 goal of 145lbs and I did think I was going to make it, but now I'm not so sure. I really am bummed.
Also I was looking back, and when I got back after the long weekend I weighed 154.5, and right now, 6 days later, I weigh 154.1, which means I've lost a total of 0.4 lbs over 6 days. I think that could be considered a plateau or a stall couldn't it? I'm hoping my steak and (deconstructed) cake day works out for me...

VLCD Day 27
Okay, I do not understand what is going on here, I just lost 2 lbs! Which I guess is only a net loss of 0.7 over the past two days, but still... I was going to do a steak and cake day today and now I'm not so sure, I'm pretty hungry right now and I want my grapefruit. Oh, I guess I better give you my stats: I'm at 152.3 lbs with a BMI of 28.76 (overweight).
Ya, I'm too annoyed right now to not eat anything at all (even though I know you're supposed to fast in the morning anyway) I like to eat my citrus in the morning (orange or grapefruit) and then strawberries or an apple in the afternoon or evening. The only thing is it's hard to figure out how many strawberries I'm allowed exactly, so I tend to eat an apple more often. If I'm just going to eat the apple, I'll eat a Gala, but if I'm adding it to salad (like last night) or baking it or trying to make cookies with it, I'll use Red Delicious because it has a stronger flavour.
Anyway, I'm going to go eat my grapefruit and some chocolate delight, not eat my grissini today and make sure to eat my fruits and veggies and drink all my water (I missed one cup yesterday and at least two the day before) and see if that keeps me on track. I only need to lose 7.3 more lbs to be at the 145 I was before I had kids, and I want to do it by my birthday which is in exactly 2 weeks from today. Oh ya, and I'll do some measurements today too since I'm finally home on a Sunday again. I'll post those later :)
EDIT:
Yikes, I nearly forgot! I still don't have a proper measuring tape, so again I used a power cord and measuring tape (the kind for building stuff, not measuring people) and I have come up with:
Right arm: 13 1/2 inches (1 3/4 inch total loss)
Left arm: 12 3/4 inches (2 3/8 inch total loss)
Right thigh: 25 7/8 inches (1 1/8 inch total loss)
Left thigh: 25 1/4 inches (1 1/2 inch total loss)
Waist: 37 inches (6 inch total loss)
Hips: 42 inches (1 1/2 inch total loss)
So my total loss in inches is... 14 1/4 inches, doesn't really seem like it though.

VLCD Day 26
Um ya, it's quarter to nine at night, my paper was due YESTERDAY and I have 4 pages written... I've taken notes on a bunch of great articles and all I have to do is actually put the darn thing together but I just don't WANT to...
I wasn't going to post today. I gained. I can't tell you how much though because I don't precisely remember and I'm at the university right now... uh... writing my paper... Actually I have to go home pretty quick so hubby can head to work his dumb night shift. He has to work every single night for the next 3 weeks straight, which will mean he will have worked a total of 27 nights in a row when he's supposed to work 2 weeks of days, two weeks of graveyards and then two weeks of afternoons (2pm-10pm) and he's supposed to have weekends off. This is why I can't get a job, because they are always screwing around with his shifts!
I will update you on my stupid gain when I get home and I can check what it was. When I saw that I gained (over a pound) this morning, I immediately went to the freezer and grabbed 3 pieces of chocolate delight and ate them. But at least I haven't had any the rest of the day and at least it wasn't the bag of Cadbury mini eggs that I have hiding on my shelf for me to snack on occasionally once I'm in P4. Still, emotional eating is something I'm trying to get out of and that didn't help this morning. It's just such a bummer to gain when I'm trying so hard to release it all. I think I might do a steak and cake day tomorrow and see if that helps (I'll tell you what that is later if you don't know). I'd better gather my things and head home right now though.
EDIT:
So I gained 1.3 lbs bringing me up to 154.3 lbs with a BMI of 29.14 (overweight). Today I didn't eat any grissini and I didn't finish my salad, but it had my apple and my veg so I ate half of my second veg and half of my second fruit. I did come home to a disgustingly messy house though and felt angry and ate probably 3 servings of chocolate delight and 2 salted macadamia nuts... I don't actually care right now, I'm just annoyed that my paper's not done and I can't find the motivation to finish it and I'm angry that my house is a mess and no one is cleaning up and I can't because I have so much homework to do...

VLCD Day 25
Okay so I don't have much time since I need to go get the boys from school soon (ya, I know it's late...) I still have like 11 pages of paper to write, but the due date4 online says June 1, so I'm going to try to clean my house in between writing today.
So today I am down 0.9lbs to 153 lbs with a BMI of 28.89 (overweight). Yay, I finally got my BMI below 29! Anyway, I am going to grab a grapefruit to eat on the way because I haven't eaten yet, or had any water and I'm, kind of hungry (yes a whole grapefruit, they are tiny grapfruit's!).
EDIT:
Okay, it's 7:30pm and I have about 2 pages written of my paper... I am just not into writing a 12 page paper and it is due today! I got so many dishes done though and my kitchen is kind of sparkly (and it was really gross before).
So this afternoon while I was buying a few groceries I also bought some macadamia nuts because I heard those can help too. I meant to by ketone testing strips, but I forgot, maybe I'll get some tomorrow. Anyway, I've had some of my chocolate delight (about 3 Tbsp I think) and I've had 5 macadamia nuts. TOM is still here, but on his way out and I'm hoping that I will lose a decent amount today. Yesterday I didn't have my supper veggies or my 2nd fruit because I spent so much time preparing meat for the next few week that supper was late and by bedtime all I had eaten was my stur-fry beef for supper and I was full. It probably didn't help that my beef was SO YUMMY! You wanna know what was on it? Salt, pepper, garlic powder and it was fried in a tiny bit of coconut oil. Wow, super good. This afternoon I fried my tilapia in the same pan without cleaning it first (with salt, pepper and garlic powder again) and it was FABULOUS!
Anyway, I better get on with my paper. It's an interesting subject, I just don't feel like writing it right now...

VLCD Day 24
Good morning everyone, so last night I had several small broken off pieces of the 'chocolate', but then read I should only have about 2 Tbsp of it, and I'm pretty sure I had at least 3, so I stopped, even though I had wanted more. Well, apparently those 3 Tbsp were a good number for me, because I lost 1.5 lbs today! Even with TOM! So now I am down to 153.9 lbs with a BMI of 29.05 (overweight). It sure takes a long time to get that BMI down, geez, I was so excited to be under 30, but I still haven't gone below 29 yet!
Anyway, I'm going to have a bit of chocolate throughout the day today and see how that treats me tomorrow. I'll try to keep it to around the same amount as I had today. I've heard adding some macadamia nuts throughout the day can help too (they are also off protocol) so I might pick some of those up later this week.
In case you are wondering I haven't gotten much done on my paper. I need a specific book Reclaiming Youth At Risk: Our Hope For the Future, and the University library has 3 copies of it, two are taken out and aren't due back until June and September (a professor must have that one) and the other is a reference copy that cannot be taken out but I cannot find it anywhere. So I took out the videos that go along with doing a program for it, but my VCR isn't working and by the time I found those (they were sitting on a random table in the library where someone left them) and got a TV and VCR set up, the library was about to close, so I didn't even get to watch them! I'm going to try again this morning after all the boys are at school/daycare and see if I can get through it all before I have to pick them up at 11am. I can't find the length though, so I don't know if I'll get through it or not.

VLCD Day 23
Sooooo, I don't know if it's TOM's fault or the pancakes or the olive oil (I guess I should just stick with the protocol while TOM's here so I know for sure), but I gained 0.9lbs today. That means I'm 155.4 lbs with a BMI of 29.34 (overweight). I'm bummed, but at least my BMI is still under 30 and my weight is under 160. There is still a chance of me getting to 145 by my birthday...
EDIT:
So I'm not any hungrier than usual, but I am having cravings, for cookies and donuts and chocolate... I just found out I have a 12 page paper due in two days (that's what you get for not checking your online class assignments in enough detail) and all I can think about is chocolate and cookies...
EDIT:
So I know I said I wasn't going to go off protocol until TOM was gone, but I couldn't help it! I found some recipe's for chocolate using coconut oil that lots of people have had success with so I had to try it! The recipe I used turned out not very good, too much cocoa was the main culprit, but it was still decent enough to eat, like 3 times. Next time I make it I will make some adjustments and let you know what I think works the best. We'll also see what happens to my weight tomorrow. But whatever happens may just be a result of my visiting friend, not the bitter chocolate stuff. I'm hoping to lose tomorrow though.

VLCD Day 22
So over the weekend I had an entire cauliflower, blueberries and a whole egg plus 3 whites which are on my friend's list of foods, but are not on the original protocol so I was concerned about my loss, but I wanted to eat as close as possible to what my friends and family were eating, without going completely off protocol, so I figured I would deal with whatever the results turned out to be. Oh ya and TOM came yesterday, so I thought that might stall me too.
Anyway, I am down 2.2 lbs over the past 4 days (which isn't much on average, but at least it's down!) so I am 154.5lbs with a BMI of 29.18 (overweight). I'll try to stick with only foods on the protocol and wait until P3 for the cauliflower. But if you're on P3 you should check out Your Lighter Side she has lots of amazing recipes with cauliflower and zucchini for pizza, breadsticks, chips, lasagna and all sorts of yummy stuff! I can't wait for P3! Actually I can wait until I lose about 10 more pounds, or until my birthday, whichever. I have to be off P2 by my birthday so I can make myself some P3 chocolate cake! It's my 30th birthday, I have to have cake!
EDIT:Okay, I am going to try something that I hope will be delicious and okay for supper.... pancakes! I found that one egg and one scoop of protein powder has the same protein as the other protein servings so if you mix them together with a little water and maybe some cinnamon and stevia.... I'll let you know haw they turn out!
EDIT:
So I used 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder, one egg, 1 Tbsp of skim milk a dash of cinnamon and a sprinkle of stevia. I cooked them like pancakes. They were a little dry and could've used more stevia, but were still tasty. Next time I would flip them the second bubbles begin to form. Now I just need to figure out my veggie for supper. Maybe some salad, hmm, lettuce or spinach...
EDIT:
Okay I never made a salad. I found this recipe and am waiting on my spinach chips right now to eat while I watch the Glee season finale. I'll let you know how they are when they come out. It's starting!
EDIT:
So Glee was kind of a bummer, but the spinach chips were soooooo good. I know that olive oil isn't on protocol, I just sprayed a bit on and sprinkled on salt, paprika and garlic powder. They were so good I made them again without the oil and they didn't end up as crunchy. Apparently coconut oil is okay and I'm not sure what I used way back a few weeks ago was coconut oil, but apparently you can buy a coconut oil spray, so I might try to find that next time. Anyway, better head to bed!

VLCD Day 18
Um, ya, so I think there might be something wrong with my Wii... it says I lost 8.4 lbs, which is highly unlikely. So it says I weigh 147.7 lbs with a BMI of 27.89(overweight). Now that is awesome, but like I said, I highly doubt I lost 8 lbs in one day, so I think I'll restart everything and try one more time...
EDIT:
Ya, I didn't think I lost 8 lbs, now it says I gained 9.7 lbs, which means I gained 1.3 lbs...ouch. So 157.4 lbs with a BMI of 29.72(overweight). So I guess zucchini is a no go until P3. Bummer. Oh so the problem was there was a tiny little action figure under the board so it couldn't go down as much as it otherwise would. I'm kind of bummed that I gained so much, it almost makes me want to check one more time...
EDIT:
So I'm thinking maybe I should get a real scale and just calculate my BMI. I just checked again and now it says I'm down 0.7lbs, so I only gained 0.6lbs (which is bad enough, but I feel better about 0.6lbs than 1.3lbs). Anyways, I'm going to go with this one as my actual weight for today. So I am back up to 156.7lbs with a BMI of 29.59(overweight).
We're heading to the lake today and so like I said, I won't be back on here until Tuesday morning. I'm definitely not eating zucchini like I had planned though, and no mixing veggies at all!

VLCD Day 17
I'm still going down, and at a pace that I was expecting finally. I drank almost 8 glasses of water yesterday and I think that might have made all the difference. I lost 1.1 lbs today so now I am at 156.1 lbs with a BMI of 29.47 (overweight). I have to lose 25 more pounds for me to be in the healthy weight range, but at least I'm on my way.
Now my concern is this coming May long weekend. We're going to my mom's lake lot and I'm not sure how I'm going to follow protocol while camping. I'm thinking maybe I should make a bunch of food for the weekend today (if I can find a spare moment). Maybe I can roast a chicken breast on a stick while everyone else is roasting smokies. I'm sure I'll figure something out. This once again means I won't be home all weekend so I can't be measuring myself or posting anything. And because it's a long weekend, I won't be back on until Tuesday morning. Hopefully, if I can take better care and drink lots of water I will lose a few pounds over the weekend instead of gaining like I did last weekend. It will be harder to stick to because my mom is there and my 'other mom' (my mom's best friend) and I'm not sure whether they'll approve. Oh well, I guess I'll find out soon...
EDIT:
I'm chowing down on my 'spaghetti' and meatsauce and my kids keep trying to steal some! It's super good, but I'll find out in the morning (again) how the zucchini 'noodles' affect my loss. If it keeps going good I think I might have spaghetti and meatsauce several days a week! I keep adjusting the recipe, I'll post it when I think it's perfect ;)

VLCD Day 16
I know I didn't write much yesterday. Things are a little more hectic now that I'm back in school and I have less time to devote to the blog (and to the protocol...) Anyway, yesterday I had a spinach and chicken stirfry for lunch and meatsauce on zucchini 'noodles' for supper. It was good, but all I had to cut it with was a spiral cutter and I need a spiral grater to make the zucchini look like spaghetti. I couldn't find one at Walmart or Superstore, but if I have time today I'll check a few other places.
Well today I lost 0.7 lbs, so now I weigh 157.2 lbs and my BMI is 29.68 (overweight). I was worried I wouldn't lose with the zucchini since it's not on the original protocol, but I lost more today than I have lots of other days, so I think the zucchini is okay. I didn't drink enough yesterday so I'm going to try to do better today. As I was falling asleep I was thinking I should make tea before I go to bed and stick it in the fridge for me to drink in the morning. Maybe I'll do that tonight. I'm really struggling getting enough liquid when I can't stand water and I'm not allowed to have juice. I keep meaning to make lemonade, but I never feel like I have time to sqeeze lemons and I'm worried if I make a bunch my kids will just drink it and I'll miss out on some of what I'm supposed to have.
Anyway, I'm still going down so I'm happy about that :)

VLCD Day 15
Today I lost 2 lbs! So really only like 1 lb since I gained a lb over the weekend, but still... I am 157.9 lbs with a BMI of 29.8 (overweight). Yep, that says overweight, not obese. I am out of the realm of obese and hope to never go back there. I will try to drink more water today, even though I'll be a scribe/reader for PAT's this morning and I have class this afternoon I will try my best to drink more water and eat enough.

VLCD Day 14
Good morning and happy Monday! So I thought we sang very well at contest, but we ended up getting 28 points lower than we did last year and placed 13th out of 17 choruses. Ouch. So we didn't win most improved and we didn't win a medal. Kind of disappointing. Speaking of disappointing, I gained 0.9 lbs over the weekend. I mixed vegetables, didn't drink very much water, had a piece of lime in my water once, ate some shiritaki noodles, didn't get much sleep and used tomato sauce that has sugar in it when I made my meatsauce last night because it was late and my tomato paste was no where to be found (I guess I need to buy some more). Other than that I stayed on the VLCD to a tee. I thought I might stall, but I didn't think I would gain and am pretty disappointed.
So that means I am 159.9 lbs and have a BMI of 30.18 (obese), bummer.

VLCD Day 11
Wow, blogger's been down for awhile. I thought I was never going to get to post today! So it's almost 2p.m. and all I've eaten are a few mini cucumbers because I haven't had time to eat. I have one hour left to make all the meals I need to make for the weekend or I will be stuck with eating hotel food or restaurant food... but I thought I should post since I won't be home all weekend. Looks like it will be pointless to take my lap top since internet at the hotel is about $30 a day, ouch!
So this morning when I weighed myself it says I am down 0.2 lbs, so 159.0 lbs with a BMI of 30.01 (obese). Can you believe it, I need my BMI to drop 0.02 and I will be overweight, but I am still obese today. Grrrr. I don't think I'll have time to post again until Sunday afternoon when I get home because like I said I still have to make my meals and I also still have to pack! I also have to leave in a little over an hour... I will talk to you in two days :)

VLCD Day 10
Okay so today I am down 0.9 lbs, that means I am finally in the 150's with a weight of 159.1 lbs and a BMI of 30.05 (obese). Once I'm under the 30 mark I will be overweight instead of obese, which will probably be tomorrow so long as I lose today. I can't weight! (Lol, I'm so punny!)

VLCD Day 9
Okay, this morning I am down 0.9 lbs, so 160lbs with a BMI of 30.22 (obese). So tomorrow I should finally be in the 150's and once I'm below a BMI of 30 I will be overweight instead of obese. This is definitely taking longer than I thought it would. I drank lots of water yesterday and ate everything I was supposed to and nothing extra. I miss the day that I lost 2.5 lbs, I want that again....

VLCD Day 8
Sooooo, today I lost 0.3 lbs. This is getting frustrating. Maybe I should have one of those apple days or something... Anyway, I am now 160.9 lbs with a BMI of 30.39 (obese).
Yesterday was kind of a stupid day, I ended up not eating supper because everything said and done I didn't get home until 9:30 and I just didn't want to make supper that late, I just wanted to go to bed. So I did. That could have effected my loss, I think if you don't eat at least 500 calories it is a problem and I think I ate less than 300 yesterday with the not eating supper. I'll make sure I eat all my meals today and see if that helps for tomorrow.
EDIT:
So I just made an apple vinaigrette and had it on some iceburg lettuce and it was super good! I think I put in a little too much vinegar so I will put in less next time. I'll post the recipe once I have it perfected.
EDIT:
So my lunch was okay, it was pretty much the same as my snack, only with Chinese Five Spice coated chicken (like last Tuesday, only with apple dressing instead of pieces of apple). I ate half and took half to school with half an apple so I would have food and wouldn't be tempted to buy anything.
My supper was okay as well. It was the burrito wrapped in lettuce, but because I ground steak for it instead of using extra lean ground beef like last time it was a lot dryer. I won't cook it like I cook ground beef next time, I'll throw everything in together and see if that works better.
I'm gonna microwave the other half of my apple with a little stevia, cinnamon and nutmeg and see if I can make an 'apple pie'. Then I'm going to bed!

VLCD Day 7
So I know that it's nearly 2:30 in the afternoon... I just didn't have time to post this morning, but I did weigh myself. I lost a whopping 0.4 lbs so now I am at 161.2 with a BMI of 30.43 (obese).
I'm happy that I lost, as opposed to yesterday, but I was hoping to be losing like a whole pound a day. It feels like it's taking forever. I know, pretty impatient hey? But at least my hunger is under control today, when I feel slightly hungry I eat one of the things on my menu plan for today and I'm fine. I've eaten an apple and some cottage cheese salad (tasty, but needs some adjustments for next time) and had some tea today. I might eat one of my grissini's before I pick the boys up from school, but we'll see.
I was kinda hoping I'd be in the 150's by now, but it should happen in the next few days (3 days if I keep losing only half a pound...) It will be nice because it's been awhile since I was down there. But once I'm there I know I'll be aching for the 140's. Actually I can't wait for the Wii to tell my that I'm overweight instead of obese, that will be a celebration lol. How many people do you know who can't wait to hear that they are overweight?
Anyway I had better go and get the dresser and bookshelf out of my van so that there is room for my kids when I pick them up. I'll update more later.

VLCD Day 6
So I almost didn't post today, but I guess I should. This morning when I weighed myself I lost a whopping ZERO pounds. Yippee... I'm thinking I won't have the onions as my vegetable again. Also I won't be eating any 'ground chicken' since I bought my grinder yesterday and today I will be grinding chicken breast so that meal should be okay next time. I will also try to go to bed earlier. It was hard though because my husband has been working nights so I would just go to bed shortly after he left for work. But last night he wasn't working, so I ended up staying up with him because we haven't really spent much time together, but he slept most of the day, so he was still up for awhile even after I realized it was midnight and went to bed.
I figured that since I didn't eat my second fruit serving I would be okay, but I also didn't drink much yesterday. We went out a bunch of times and I always forgot my travel cup at home. We went to the Giant Tiger 50th Anniversary barbecue with my family and they had hot dogs and pop and I figured I would just have a water, but they didn't have any - only pop. So I think the combination of the extra calories of the onions, the dark meat I assume was in the ground chicken, the lack of water and the lack of sleep resulted in my lack of a loss today. But I didn't gain!
I'm going to try to make as many dishes for next week as I can today so that I don't spend so much time focusing on food next week. I'm starting classes next week again so I need to focus on my classes, not my food. Last weekend I separated and weighed all the meat out, but today I will cook most of it too.
EDIT:
So I think I still didn't drink enough water today so I'm going to try to drink a bunch before bed. I didn't eat either of my fruit serving today but the vegetable I ate with supper was tomatoes (which are technically fruit) so I think I'm good.
I bought my meat for the week yesterday and today I cut it all up and ground what I needed so that next time I make a chicken burger it won't be just ground chicken, but actually ground chicken breast.
Also I wasn't as hungry today as I have been. I was still a bit hungry in the morning, but drinking some tea took care of that, and I wasn't hungry at all from after lunch until now. My chicken and cabbage stir fry for lunch wasn't very good, but my meatloaf for supper was excellent!
I figured since I gave my measurements last Sunday I would do so again today, so here you go:
Right thigh: 26 1/2 inches (-1/4)
Left thigh: 26 1/2 inches (-1/2)
Right arm: 14 1/2 inches (-3/4)
Left arm: 14 3/8 inches (-3/4)
Waist: 42 5/8 inches (-3/8)
Hips: 43 1/2 inches (-1)
Total: -3 5/8 inches not too shabby

VLCD Day 5
MyFitnessPal - Free Calorie Counter
Yay! I'm down 2.5 lbs today! So now I'm at 161.6 lbs with a BMI of 30.51 (obese). I also had a bowel movement this morning before I weighed myself, and I didn't have one yesterday at all. I think I might start drinking some tea for that every morning to make sure that my body keeps working properly. But I'm way more happy about today than the other day and my 0.2 lb loss...
EDIT:
I had 'Taco Salad' for lunch which mainly consisted of caramelized onions and some ground beef with taco seasoning. But afterwards I looked up the calories in the onions I had and it was nearly 200 calories! I can't believe onions have so many calories! The same amount of celery would have been only 42 calories. I wonder if that's going to have an effect on my loss tomorrow. I hope not.
EDIT:
I had chicken burgers for supper with mustard and wrapped in a lettuce leaf. They were really good, but I realized I had bought ground chicken which isn't necessarily just breast meat. So that might affect my loss for tomorrow too. I bought a grinder attachment for my KitchenAid mixer today so that I can just grind the breast meat myself so I know exactly what's in my ground chicken. I figured it would be good for the beef too so I know exactly what is in my ground beef because I can cut off any fat and ground it myself. But I'm still concerned that my two meals today will affect my weight loss in the morning...
EDIT: I'm just about to go to bed now and it's midnight. Oops. Not getting enough sleep apparently affects your loss as well...

VLCD Day 4
Yay! I am down 0.9 lbs, so 164.1 with a BMI of 31.01 (obese). I was hoping to be losing AT LEAST a lb a day, but at least this is close, and better than 0.2 lbs from yesterday. Anyway, gotta run, my alarm clock is going off (apparently I hit snooze instead of turning it off...) I'll update more later.
EDIT:
So today was a bit messed up, my lunch got delayed until around 2, so my supper also got delayed and I've just finished my dessert and it is 3 minutes to 9. But we bought a car! My husband's truck is a gas guzzler and we just got our tax return yesterday, so we bought a '97 Corolla that will be much better on gas. We just have to get rid of the truck now.
Okay, about the food. I snacked on celery while waiting for lunch since I was having a celery stir-fry for lunch so I wouldn't be mixing my vegetables. It was a beef celery stir-fry and it was not good. This was most likely entirely my fault as the beef was over cooked and flavourless and the celery was undercooked and bitter. I need to find a better way to cook celery and I should have taken the meat out right away. I ate half and then took out the meat from the other half to cook the celery some more and got distracted with describing the car to my husband and deciding to take him to look at and probably buy it and I burned the rest of the celery. So I ended up just eating the rest of my meat, I figured I'd had enough celery earlier anyway.
My supper was DELICIOUS! It was a shrimp asparagus stir-fry with garlic and other spices and though the shrimp was slightly overcooked, it was still super yummy! I just need to learn how to be a better cook and my meals will be tastier.
For dessert I had a baked grapefruit. I was skeptical, but it was really good. I put stevia and nutmeg on it and put it in at 400 for 20 min. It was really good and I'm feeling very satisfied. Tomorrow I would like to finish eating earlier in the day, but oh well. I guess we'll see tomorrow if it made a difference or not.

VLCD Day 3
Sooooo, I only lost 0.2 lb today - kind of disheartening. But at least I didn't gain right? so I'm at 165 lbs and a BMI of 31.18 (obese). Hopefully I'll see better results today.
My friend was saying you're supposed to have red meat once a day and yesterday I had chicken and halibut, so maybe that's part of the problem. I also found people saying you could have coconut oil and MCT oil and I fried my halibut in a little coconut oil so maybe I shouldn't have done that. Anyway, I'm having beef and chicken again today so we'll see if that helps.
EDIT:
So I know I didn't lose much today, but I am still considering going for the full 40 days to see if I can get closer to the Wii's ideal weight for me. However I want to have cake for my 30th birthday and I thought finding a sugar free cake recipe would be perfect. Then my friend reminded me that there's starch in flour and you're supposed to have no sugar or starch for the 3 weeks after you're done with the hCG so I had to find a flourless sugar-free recipe, and I found one on this forum which also has a recipe for lemon bars and you use almond flour instead of regular flour and xylitol (or stevia or splenda) instead of sugar. So unless I continue to have 0.2 lb days (ugh) I think I'll go for the full 40 and make that cake for my birthday.
EDIT:
So I'm stuffed. I've only eaten half of my lunch, I ate it an hour ago and I am still stuffed. It's cabbage cooked down in apple cider vinegar, then a packet of stevia and some 'Citrus Pepper Seasoning' by McCormick (no salt) and then I added my 100g of sliced cooked steak. Maybe cabbage is super filling, I don't know, but I was hungry before and now I am very full. Maybe I should have cabbage every day. Good thing it's cheap!

VLCD Day 2
Finally! I tried to post an hour ago and my internet had not connectivity for some reason. Anyway this morning I am down 4.2 lbs! So I am 165.2 and my BMI is 31.22 (obese). I thought I was about 165 before I started, so this isn't a huge milestone or anything, but I'm down which is good.
I took 6 drops when I got up and I have just been sipping tea this morning and doing well. My son actually caught the bus this morning! We were out there at 6:50 and the bus came about 2 min later. He wants to move us up the road, but I think he's mistaken about his map because he said to go up a block by Algonquin, but we were by Algonquin... up a block is Red Crow. Whatever, we'll do what he wants.
Just have to get the 4 yr old's snack packed for pre-Kindergarten and we can get out the door and on with the morning. I will update you later.
EDIT:
So the snack I had scheduled for this morning was some strawberries. I figured that while I was taking out strawberries and washing them (they last longer if you don't wash them until you're about to eat them) I would make the strawberry vinaigrette that I need for later this week. The container I had for the vinaigrette didn't hold all of it so I figured I would use what was left with my strawberries and some spinach since I'm having some spinach for lunch (and I don't want to mix veggies!) and oh my goodness it was soooooo yummy! It was like having dessert for a mid morning snack!
I know some people use 'updated' versions of the protocol, or use Kevin Trudeau's version or somebody else's but there are so many options even if you only follow the original protocol by Dr. Simeons in Pounds and Inches that I figure, why mess with a good thing? My super yummy salad falls right within the original protocol and like I said, super yummy! And according to the My Fitness Pal app it was only 28 calories :)
Oh, I almost forgot, I had a headache again today, so I took an Aleve before I ate my salad and it's starting to let up. Hopefully my headaches go away soon.
EDIT:
Today I was a bit hungrier, but I managed. My kids made an Easter house thing, like a gingerbread house, but vanilla instead of gingerbread and Easter candies instead of Christmas candies, and there were some bunny and chick shaped jujubes and I would have liked an orange one...
It's hard when you smell something or see something and you would normally just grab it, but you can't. My 2 yr old opened a cheese string this morning but then didn't finish it. Normally I would have just eaten it, but instead I wrapped it in plastic wrap and stuck it in the fridge. I like cheese. Thankfully I had some cottage cheese with my halibut for supper. I don't think I've ever had halibut before but it was super yummy! It actually didn't even need the sauce that I made for it with the cottage cheese. It was seriously tasty. Too bad it's fairly expensive. I'll have to see if I can find it somewhere cheap and have it more often because it is delicious!

VLCD Day 1
Okay, so I guess I ate more fat yesterday than the first loading day because today I gained 2 lbs. So I'm at 169.5 lbs with a BMI of 32.01, oh and the Wii informed me today that to have the ideal BMI of 22 I need to weigh 116.6 lbs. I probably haven't weighed that since I was 10 years old!
I've given my kids breakfast and not feeling hungry, so that's good. We'll see how the rest of the day goes.
EDIT:
So my oldest was supposed to start taking the bus today but apparently the bus driver wasn't told that and he normally doesn't have any kids at our stop so we were out there 5 minutes early according to the schedule we have, but he had passed by probably 5 or 10 min earlier to go wait at his first stop (which will now be his 2nd stop). Anyway we ended up waiting out there for 15 min and then I had to get the other 2 ready quickly so I could drive him to school.
So instead of having a cup of tea and juicing a lemon to have some lemon water, all I had was plain water. I was hungry dropping him off at school, then I dropped off the 2 yr old at daycare and came back to the school to drop off the 4 yr old at pre-kindergarten (which starts half an hour after kindergarten does, which is stupid...)anyway, by the time I got home I had been awake for 2 1/2 hours and all I'd had was a glass of water and a sip from the water fountain at the school and I was HUNGRY!
Anyway, I came home and made myself a cup of tea and I'm sitting here drinking it and I am no longer hungry. I'll take some more drops 15 min after I finish my tea and in a little bit I'll have an orange and some water then cook up my chicken for my salad for lunch. I'll post more later.
EDIT:
Well I was hungry before lunch, maybe I'll split lunch in half tomorrow and eat some around 11 and the rest around 12:30 or something. I had chicken apple salad and it was really good (half an apple, 100g chicken breast cooked in Chinese 5 Spice and lettuce). If I were to have it in phase 3 I would add a dressing though. Maybe I'll make a stevia, vinegar, lemon juice dressing next time or something. We'll see.
EDIT:
I just ate half of my supper - so yummy! I cooked up 100g ground sirloin, soaked it on a paper towel and wiped out the pan then put it back on with a squished clove of garlic, some onion flakes, some taco seasoning and a bit of water and cooked a little more and then put half of it on a leaf of iceburg lettuce and did my best to wrap it up like a burrito. Wow! I'm going to have some water then wait a bit and take some more drops, then wait to eat the other half of the meat on another lettuce leaf.
EDIT:
So I was a bit hungry while I had the boys at T-ball, but it was okay. I came home and juiced a lemon and threw it in the blender with some ice cubes and a packet of stevia and made a 'smoothie'. It was great and hit the spot. Even though I was hungry a few times today, I never felt tired or lacking energy. I actually had more energy! We'll see what happens in the morning.
I've given my kids breakfast and not feeling hungry, so that's good. We'll see how the rest of the day goes.

Loading day two
So I guess I expected it a little bit, but I thought I didn't really eat enough yesterday to warrant a weight gain. But alas, my Wii says that I am now 167.5 lbs and my BMI is 31.63 (obese). Fantastic.
I'm going to try to eat more today, I'll let you know how that goes.
EDIT:
Ended up at McDonald's again as they are always good for fat. Had one their new biscuit sandwiches with egg and sausage and two hashbrowns. It took me the whole two hours we were there (for the older two to play since they had no school this morning) to finish everything. I also didn't have room for lunch until around 3 when I had two chicken drumsticks (from one of those deli chickens) dipped in my leftover guacamole. For supper I had chips with a 425g 7 layer dip from Safeway with refried beans, guacamole, 2 different salsas, sour cream and cheddar cheese. It was good, but it took awhile to get it all down. Later I bought a large chocolate/coffee milkshake from McDonalds because I was reading awhile ago that they have more fat than a Big Mac. I only finished half and the rest will stay in the freezer until I can eat it or my husband eats it.
I had a bit of a headache this evening but I think it might be because I didn't drink enough water. I'll have to make sure to drink more, which I'm hoping will be easier when I'm eating less. I'm so full right now that I'm looking forward to not eating much tomorrow.
I'm going to drink some more of my delicious cranberry concord grape juice (mixed half with water so it's not too strong) and try to find my lemon juicer then go to bed. See you in the morning!

Loading day one
Okay I got the Wii Fit working last night, but figured I'd be weighing myself in the mornings so I may as well wait until this morning to weigh myself.
It looks like I'm 167.3 lbs and it calculated my BMI at 31.59 (Obese)
I need to clean my livingroom and then I'll go get groceries so I can better start my loading day. I took 6 drops but haven't eaten anything yet. I'll update in a few hours or so.
EDIT
I didn't really get a chance to eat this morning and I haven't had a chance to buy groceries, so by the time I took my kids out for lunch for helping me scrub the kitchen floor I was 'starving'. They wanted to go to Montana's but I can't take 3 kids aged 6 and under to Montana's by myself (husband's working nights) so then we were going to go to the Burger King with the play place, but it's shut down for repairs (like it has been since we went there last at the beginning of March!). So we ended up at McDonald's where they have a brand new play place. I couldn't even finish my burger and medium fries, which I normally can't do, but I'm supposed to be trying to stuff myself today. Oh well.
My 6 yr old has golf in about an hour so there's not time to go grocery shopping before that so it'll have to wait until after. Maybe by then my husband will be awake and I can go with just the 6 yr old instead of the 2 yr old, 4 yr old and 6 yr old.
EDIT
So all I ate after that was guacamole and tortilla chips and I couldn't even finish the 227g container. But at least guacamole is good fat right?
I managed to get my groceries but I won't be divvying everything up until tomorrow. Before I added the spices and vinegar and stuff, it was under $40 for the whole week. But I do have to go tomorrow and buy groceries for my family once my husband makes a list...
I forgot to buy a measuring tape, but I used a power cord that I marked off using the ruler on my agenda (so probably not that accurate). Anyway, here are my measurements:
Right Thigh: 26 3/4 inches
Left Thigh: 27 inches
Right Arm: 15 1/4 inches
Left Arm: 15 1/8 inches
Waist: 43 inches
Hips: 44 1/2 inches
